JOHN P. WELCH AND HIS SQUAD OF NEWSIES

John P. Welch, news agent for the Globe at Norwood, is a great believer in team work. To secure such he has discovered that the members of a team must be imbued with the proper friendly spirit. His team comprises the 20 boys who deliver the Globes in Norwood, and according to Mr Welch it is full of life. Ail of the boys are hustlers from the start.

Twice each year Mr Welch gives the team an outing, and the days set apart for these events are brimful of joy. Realizing that all of them take unusual interest in baseball, he escorted the group to Fenway Park. June 18, and they saw a thrilling battle between the Red Sox and White Sox, during which they witnessed a great winning rally by Jack Barry’s athletes.

The lads had hardly finished talking of that day when he told them to get themselves set for a trip to Nantasket, July 4. They went to the resort In an immense auto truck, starting at 8 in the morning and not returning to Norwood until 9 that evening. They did not miss a thing at the beach, and Mr Welch was with them in all. He even shot the chutes and took a trip on the roller coasters.

When they proceeded home that evening they were tired, but not too tired to give three cheers for the Globe and John Welch.
