NORWOOD — Lincoln D. Lynch, superintendent of schools here for 24 years, died Saturday in Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mr. Lynch, 66, had lived on Old Chatham rd., Dennis, since retirement in 1960.
He was born in Weymouth and educated at Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Columbia. He was named assistant principal of Norwood High School in 1931, principal in 1933 and superintendent in 1936. He operated a boatyard and marina in Dennis since his retirement.
He was a Navy veteran of World War I.
He leaves a wife, Marie (Murrill); three sons, Lincoln D. Lynch Jr., assistant superintendent of schools in Pittsfield, Dr. Mark Lynch of Hartford, Ct., and Timothy H. Lynch of Harwich; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Linowski of Brewster; a brother, Edward Lynch of Plymouth, and a sister, Mona Lynch of Brockton.
