Plans for a testimonial banquet to H Bennett Murray, who resigned last June after 25 years as a coach and teacher at Norwood High School will be made at a meeting at the Planning Board room of the Municipal Building, Sunday night at 7.30, it was announced today.

The idea of the testimonial grew out of comments by former High School students in general, and former athletes in particular that something should be done to honor the popular “Benny” for his many years of service to the town. The date set for the affair is February 20.

No particular group or organization is sponsoring the testimonial at this time. The initial moves for getting the affair underway will be made by interested persons to volunteer to help. Ambrose Kelly is acting chairman of the committee in charge. He stated today that he has received enough offers of assistance to insure the nucleus of an organization to get plans underway. He requests all persons who want to do their share towards the Murray testimonial to attend the meeting Sunday night.

Additional, information can be obtained by contacting Kelly at Norwood 2414 or John Cook at the MESSENGER office.
