Home After 22 Months Overseas

Home after 22 months overseas is Russell I. Richwcin, QM, USN, son of Mrs. Emma Rowell of 392 Pleasant street. On the crew of an LST. Russell has taken part in four major invasions. North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Normandy.

Russell, a graduate of Norwood schools, has been in the service for two and a half years and got his boot training at Newport.

His brother, Everett S. Richwein, MM, USN, has been in the southwest Pacific for 37 months.

Two Local Men Return From Asia

Arriving at Fort Devons on Tuesday from overseas duty were two Norwood men who have been in the China-Burma-India theatre. They will spend their first Christmas in several years at home in Norwood.

The two are: T/Sgt. Richard E. Green of 21 East Hoyle street and Pvt. John S. Nornella of 33 Tremont street.

Back After 27 Months Overseas

T/4 Arthur L. Krum, the husband of Mrs. Florence Krum of 175 Vernon street, has returned home after being 27 months overseas in France and England. He will have a 21-day furlough with his family.

Algirdas C. Kazulis Returns With Air Group “Lucky 13”

A Walpole pilot and a Norwood Navy man are back in the United States with Air Group 13. known as “Lucky 13.” The group is on leave after an action-filled five months on duty aboard a big Essex class carrier in the Pacific.

“Lucky 13″ shot down 87 and one aged 148.500 tons of enemy war ships and 275.000 tons of merchant shipping, and participated in 11 major strikes from the Bonin Islands in July to the second battle of the Philippines Sea.
