The massive earthquake that shook San Francisco to its core in the early hours of April 18, 1906 was one of the most significant natural disasters in the United States. Between the earthquake and the fires it sparked, almost 80% of the city was destroyed.

NORWOOD. April 23— Among the Norwood people In San Francisco who have not been heard from since the earthquake are Charles E. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Stewart of Cottage st: Jabez Weatherbee, brother of Mrs. Irving Fogg and a brother-in-law and nephew of Town Treasurer Wheelock.
